Land of Big Mountain and Deep Valley

Nepal is a nation full of ponder. So numerous mountains, so numerous valleys. Some places many people go to; some places are very quiet and look like magic. If you like to walk, see snow peaks, feel fresh air, and meet smiling people, then you must trek in Nepal. Today we tell you about the three best ones—Annapurna Circuit Trek, Nar Phu Valley Trek, and Pikey Peak Trek. Each one different, each one special. All give you memories forever.

Annapurna Circuit Trek

The Annapurna Circuit trek is popular all over the world. It goes around one of the most elevated mountains on Earth—Annapurna. You do not climb it, but you go all the way around. You see every side—green, dry, snowy, rocky, everything.

Start from low land:
On the first day you start from places like Bhulbhule or Jagat. It was hot, and there were numerous trees. You cross a bridge, walk another to a stream, and pass a rice field.. You feel happy because everything is new.

Village life on the trail:
Every village you speak at, people are very friendly. They say “Namaste” with a smile. You sleep in a teahouse. It’s a simple room but nice. The food is dal bhat, momo, and noodles. Some tea houses also have pancakes and coffee.

High places come later:
As you walk more days, you go higher. Places like Chame, Pisang, and Manang come. Manang is a special village. You stay an extra day there to rest and adjust to the height. It is very important, or you get sick from the mountain.

Thorong La—the big pass:
After many days, you reach Thorong La. It is 5,416 meters high. You wake early—maybe 4 AM

The cold wind blows, but you keep strolling. It’s difficult, but when you reach the beat, you feel proud. There is a board that says “Congratulations!” Take photos there!

Then go down to Muktinath:
After passing, you go down to Muktinath. There is a temple where fire and water come together. Many pilgrims go there. After that, more villages came—like Kagbeni and Jomsom. From there, you can fly or keep back, or keep walking.

Why people love this trek:
Because it shows many things. You see low land and high peaks. You meet many groups like Gurung, Manangi, and Thakali. You cross rivers, forests, deserts, and snow. Every day is different. You never get bored.

Nar Phu Valley Trek

This one not many people know. That is why it is special. The Nar Phu Valley trek is covered up between Annapurna and Tibet. You require an uncommon permission to go, since it is a secured region.

That means fewer crowds and more peace.

Enter the secret path:
The trek starts the same way as Annapurna, but at a place called Koto, you turn to a narrow valley. After that, you are in a different world. No cars, no shops, just old trails and big rocks.

Wild and strong landscape:
The valley is wild. Rock cliff, hanging bridge, stone house, snow peak in sky. It is not green like other treks. It is dry, dusty, but very beautiful. The sky is big. The wind is always blowing.

Phu village and Nar village:
These two villages are like a long time ago. Stone house, yak in yard, old people spinning prayer wheel. You feel like going back in the past. People live hard lives but are happy. They welcome you with butter tea.

Monastery and mountain:
You visit an old monastery in Phu. It is on a hill, looking down to a valley. Inside is quiet and peaceful. Outside, white mountains shine in the sun. Every view is like a painting.

Kang La Pass—remote and strong:
When you go back from Nar, you cross a pass called Kang La. It is 5,306 meters. It is not easy. Not many people cross, so the trail is wild. From the peak, you see Annapurna like never before.

Why the Nar Phu Trek is a mystery:
Because it is untouched. People still live the old way. No network, no big crowdJust you, the path, the mountain, and the sky. If you need enterprise and quiet, this trek is for you.

Pikey Peak Trek

Not every trek needs to be long or hard. Pikey Peak Trek is short, sweet, and full of beauty. You walk just 5 to 7 days, but you see Everest and many other mountains. It is perfect for people with less time or who want an easy walk.

Start from the Dhap or Jiri side:
You take a jeep to Dhap. Then the walk started. The first day is in the forest. Big trees, many birds. Rhododendrons sprout in spring. It looks like a pink and ruddy plant on a hill.

Village is simple and pure:
You stay in small villages like Jhapre and Loding. People are Sherpa and Tamang. They cook food from their farm. Life is slow here. You enjoy tea while looking at mountains.

Climb to Pikey Peak peak:
Early in the morning you go up to Pikey Peak. It is 4,065 meters. Not exceptionally tall, but tall enough to see a huge sea. From the beat, you see Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and indeed Kanchenjunga if the sky is clear. The dawn is brilliant. You never forget that moment.

Fewer people, more silence:
This trek is not crowded. The trail is peaceful. No big group. You walk alone or with a few friends. The air is clean. My heart feels calm.

Why Pikey Peak is a gem:
Because it is simple and cheap but gives you a gift. You do not go to Everest Base Camp but still see Everest. Perfect for beginners or for a second trek in Nepal.

Culture You See on This Trek

In all three treks, you meet distinctive individuals and societies. In Annapurna, you meet Gurung, Magar, and Thakali. They live in a mix of Hindu and Buddhist styles. You see temples, stupas, flags, and cows in the yard.

In Nar Phu, culture is close to Tibet.

People wear robes, turn supplication wheels, and talk a Tibetan-type language.. House made of stone, flat roof. They keep yaks and sheep and make wool.

In Pikey Peak, Sherpa and Tamang people live. They follow Buddhism. You see many walls, chortens, and old monasteries. They love to tell stories and sing songs.

Food and Tea House on Trek

Food is similar in all treks. Dal Bhat is king. Rice, lentils, vegetables, and now and then pickles. It gives energy. You also eat momo, noodles, chapati, pasta, and fried rice. Breakfast is pancake, toast, porridge, or Tibetan bread.

A teahouse is a place where you sleep and eat. In Annapurna and Pikey, tea houses are good and plentiful. In Nar Phu, there are few tea houses, and they are more simple. Sometimes you eat with your family in the kitchen. That is a special experience.

Best Time to Go

  • Autumn (September to November): Best season. The sky is clear. The view is sharp.
  • Spring (March to May): Moreover great. Blossoms blossom. It’s a little warm. The sea is great, but a few clouds come in the afternoon.
  • Winter (December to February): Cold, but calm.Cold, but quiet. Some pass close from snow.
  • Monsoon (June to August): Rainy. Leeches. Trail slippery. Not a good time.

You walk, you think, you grin, you cry, and you develop. You meet individuals who have small but allow much.

You eat simple food but feel full. You sleep in a small room but dream big.
